On March 24, the second trip of students of the preparatory faculty for a city tour took place within the framework of the social cultural and adaptation program of the preparatory faculty.
In the 2016-2017 school year, the number of foreign citizens who came to the preparatory faculty to obtain higher education in Ukraine actually doubled compared to last year. Geography has also expanded noticeably: this year students come from more than 20 countries in Asia, Africa and Europe. Despite the high degree of globalization in the modern world, many students for the first time face the experience of living and learning in a multicultural society. Such diversity of representatives of different cultures and religions raises to a new level the relevance of cultural and adaptive work conducted at the Institute for the Training of Foreign Citizens.
A special cultural and adaptation program for foreign citizens has been developed and successfully implemented at the preparatory faculty for a long time. It includes many activities: visits to museums and theaters, city tours and memorial sites, trips to Sofiyiv Park (Uman) and Belgorod-Dnestrovskaya Fortress, joint evenings and competitions and much more.
Within the framework of this program, on March 24, the second trip of students of the preparatory faculty took place for a city tour. This time the tour started from the 16th station of the Big Fountain. Students had the opportunity to walk along the beautiful promenade "Gold Coast", get acquainted with the history of this district of the city.
April 10, Odessa will celebrate the day of liberation. Therefore, the next stop of the excursion was Dacha Kovalevsky and "Memorial of Odessa's Heroic Defense of the 411th Coast Battery." With the events of 76 years ago, when the defense of Odessa was going on, one could get to know the open air on a vast exposition of military equipment. Here students got acquainted with the history of Odessa and Ukraine not according to the textbook, but in places of heroic defense. We inspected the military equipment, which worked on the ground, on the water and in the air, met with the legendary "Katyusha". Somebody drove on Kids cars, others went down to the batteries. Someone was trained on a mini-alpinist wall.
Bright and warm sun, blue sea, blue sky created an unforgettable atmosphere, which students hurried to share in social networks with friends and relatives. Everyone was interested. There was time for to rest, and to drink coffee, and to talk.
